The latter did have a couple of openings earlier but was brilliantly defended by the Lamborghini, alas after almost 8 minutes of pure pressure, the #999 GruppeM AMG wrestled away first place by executing a jaw dropping overtaking manoeuvre through turns 7 and 8, coming into contact with the #19 FFF Lamborghini before taking the lead and winning the race. The incident was being investigated but SRO officials had stated that no further action would be taken against either team.
GruppeM has even more reason to celebrate as their second GT3 car, the #888 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Brice Boss and Raffaele Marciello claimed the final spot on podium coming 12.911 seconds behind their fellow team-mates as well as taking the top spot in the GT3PA (Pro-Am) class. Fourth overall went to the #27 HubAuto Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 of Hongli Ye and Nick Foster. In fifth was the #23 KCMG Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 with Florian Strauss and Edorado Liberati.
Taking second place for GT3PA and placing sixth overall was the #37 Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Anthony Liu and Josh Burdon coming in 32.396 seconds behind the first car. Right behind them was the #63 FFF Racing Team by ACM Lamborghini Huracan GT3 driven by Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Marco Mapelli coming in seventh overall and third in GT3PA. Eight spot went to Martin Rump and Franky Cheng driving the #3 Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3.
