9tro tagged along with our friends over at Bilstein and Race Flow International for four days (18 - 21 December) as the crew covered every inch of the island visiting workshops, garages, new and existing customers while informing them on the latest happenings about the suspension specialist and showering them with a wealth of gifts!
As with previous iterations of the Bilstein Roaming Roadshow, this year’s theme was centred around educating and informing on the dangers of purchasing grey imports of Bilstein Suspension systems, whose warranties are not covered locally as well customers not receiving the right parts due to negligence on the grey importer.
Joining us this year were Bilstein models, Anastasia and Cherise, whom added a touch of charm and engaged customers in friendly banter, whilst the vehicle convoy had a new addition - a Bilstein B16-equipped Honda S2000! In the days that followed, the Bilstein Roaming Roadshow travelled to various garages and the team caught up with old friends and made a lot of new ones along the way.
From the engagements with garage bosses, workshop owners and their customers, the crew were also able to get a good feel of on-the-ground sentiments and feedback towards Bilstein that would aid in continuing the brand’s dominance in Singapore’s market as well as the region’s.
We spoke to Mr. James Tan, Agent and Brand Manager for Bilstein in the region on his thoughts of the roadshow.
9tro: What are your impressions after wrapping up the sixth Bilstein Roaming Roadshow this year?
Mr. James Tan: The commitment of Bilstein to the market remains strong and unwavering – to deliver quality products and service to the market continuously. The sixth Bilstein Roaming Road Show clearly tells us that each and every workshop that we visited affirms the Bilstein brand and without a doubt is the market leader in our region. The Bilstein brand is here to stay!
9tro: What was the key difference between this year's roadshow and last year's?
Mr. James Tan: The key and obvious difference is maturity! Each and every partner is well versed with our Bilstein products and branding. It was more a meeting of old friends to renew our common bonds, rather than trying to get people to know us and build the brand. Customers have become friends and what is better than that?
9tro: Has there been any new developments between the workshops and garages visited?
Mr. James Tan: The market has once again matured – it is clear from the discussions and feedbacks that the workshops and our partners are well experienced. Many have tried re-conditioned parts and saw various and many failures.
They witness first hand the importance of quality products in relation to safety – costs should not even be an consideration when it comes to safety!! We are glad and assured that our partners are giving sound advices to consumers to make our roads safer!!!
9tro: What are your plans for Bilstein/ Roaming Roadshow for 2019?
Mr. James Tan: The plan is clear we will have continual engagement in the market – in terms of service, communications, support, training and brand building. Secondly, we will keep bringing new technologies and knowledge to the market to enrich and support our partners. The above points will be built into the agenda for the 2019 Bilstein Roaming Roadshow!
