Jaguar Land Rover unveils three new vehicles at the Singapore Motorshow 2020
Jaguar Land Rover unveils three new vehicles at the Singapore Motorshow – the New Jaguar XE, New Land Rover Defender and New Discovery Sport.
New Jaguar XE
The New Jaguar XE, Jaguar’s class-leading compact sports sedan, boasts a refreshed and enhanced exterior design, an all-new luxurious interior, advanced technologies and an upgraded powertrain.
Building on the beautifully judged proportions of the original car, the New XE’s sporting intent has been taken up a level, with contemporary design cues inspired by the F-TYPE sports car. New all-LED headlights with a striking ‘J’ blade daytime running light signature create a more purposeful look, and slender all-LED tail-lights with animated directional indicators and an updated signature light graphic complete the XE.
On the inside, the rotary controller dial is replaced by the F-TYPE inspired SportShift gear selector for a more dynamic driving experience. The beautifully-crafted all-new
The New XE is also the smartest and most connected yet. Jaguar’s Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, shared with the multi award-winning all-electric I-PACE, is available for the first time in the XE, delivering instinctive control through a pair of seamlessly integrated high-resolution touchscreens. The advanced first-in-segment ClearSight interior rear view mirror provides uninterrupted rearward visibility, and wireless mobile phone charging and clever Smart Settings technology make their first appearance in the XE.
With an upgraded powertrain of 250PS, the New XE achieves a century sprint within a mere 6.5 seconds, and is the most powerful car in the compact executive sedan class. Possessing all the attributes of a Jaguar sports car – lightweight construction, dynamic handling and exceptional performance, the XE is a true driver’s car. A Jaguar with envy as standard.
New Land Rover Defender
The New Land Rover Defender is an icon reimagined for the 21st century. Clever, capable and safe for all, and in a category of its own.
Driven by a passion and respect for the original, New Defender delivers transformational breadth of capability. Advanced all-terrain technologies redefine adventure for the 21st century, remaining true to the pioneering spirit that has been a Land Rover hallmark for 71 years.
Instantly recognisable by its distinctive silhouette, the New Defender is equipped with familiar yet re-envisioned Defender trademarks that give the new 4x4 a purposeful upright stance. These include Alpine light windows in the roof, while retaining the side- hinged rear tailgate and externally-mounted spare wheel.
The stripped-back personality of the original Defender has been embraced inside, with an emphasis on simplicity and practicality. A choice of five or six seating configurations are available, allowing the Defender to accommodate six occupants in a vehicle the length of a compact family hatchback.
As technologically advanced as it is durable, the New Defender introduces Land Rover’s new Pivi Pro infotainment system and takes the Software-Over-The-Air (SOTA) technology to a new level with its ability to receive remote updates.
A world-class expert off and on-road, the Defender is packed with advanced technologies such as the Configurable Terrain Response and ClearSight Ground View technology which help drivers excel in all terrains - the soft sand of the desert, the freezing tundra of the arctic and everywhere in between.
The New Land Rover Defender will be available in Singapore in the 2nd half of 2020.
New Discovery Sport
The New Discovery Sport is the latest addition to the bloodline and pushes the boundaries of the premium compact SUV sector with an enhanced exterior design and transformed interior. New vehicle architecture ensures the fastest-selling Land Rover ever produced is now more efficient, technologically-advanced and versatile than ever, keeping its occupants safe and comfortable in all conditions.
Designed with electrification in mind, the new Premium Transverse Architecture allows for the introduction of a new 48-volt mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) powertrain on Discovery Sport, helping reduce emissions and fuel consumption.
The Discovery Sport’s 5+2 interior features a new infotainment interface with the latest connectivity, plus a more flexible seating arrangement with up to 24 combinations for enhanced versatility, delivering superior interior space and refinement. Making the most of its compact exterior dimensions with a versatile interior that has been enhanced to optimise interior space, the Discovery Sport provides improved small item stowage across all three rows and a 20 percent increase in fuel tank capacity.
The latest Discovery Sport is every inch a Land Rover, combining assured all-terrain handling with all-weather capability, including a wading depth of 600mm, All-Wheel Drive and a second-generation Active Driveline system. Advanced features such as the ClearSight Rear View Mirror, ClearSight Ground View technology and Terrain Response 2 are also available.
