Singapore - On the road at any one time, you will see a Sports Utility Vehicle rolling by. They do take up a huge amount of real estate on the road but a far cry from the boxy, gas-guzzling first generation. Now more refined and status of prestige, thanks to marquees taking a gamble, which paid off in the end.

With crowd-pleasing designs, like the Macan and Cayenne, Porsche had to one-up from the competition and put themselves that much further ahead of the game. Enter the Cayenne Coupé. 3 generations in, and this SUV is dressed to impress. The outrageous Lave Orange is a head-turner. Much like the Miami Blue on the new Macan. Distinctive lines and contours push the Cayenne Coupé into another level. Being classed as a Coupé and having a sweeping silhouette is achieved by lowering the rear bench by 30mm. A simple yet effective idea that didn't compromise on the comfort of the rear passengers and retaining its 4-door configuration. Take a few steps back and the contours and line depict a sporty-looking silhouette.

Decked out in classic checked fabric, carbon and Alcantara accents adorn the interior making it very lush and giving a dimension of depth. Eight-way electrically-adjustable sport seats upfront give the driver and co-pilot lateral support while being über comfortable. The rear bench has plenty of headroom and leg space with an option to have an additional seat in the middle. Boot space is as expected, ample to say the least. 625 litres, while the rear seats are up and double that when folded down. Grocery shopping, golf bags, or a family road trip. The Cayenne Coupé has got you covered.

Following the Porsche DNA is the driver-focused Porsche Advanced Cockpit. An amalgamation of old and new tech, the instrument cluster features the traditional Porsche central tachometer nestled between two seven-inch full-HD displays. You have three option to navigate around your new Cayenne Coupé's system. First is through the beautiful Alcantara covered GT steering, the second would be the full-HD touch display of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system and lastly the Direct Touch Control function in the centre console.

With three different engine variants to tickle your fancy, the basic model, the Cayenne Coupé comes with a six-cylinder, turbocharged engine with 250 kW (340 hp). With the standard Sport Chrono Package, 0-100 km/h is achieved in 6.0 seconds. The 2.9-litre V6  Cayenne S Coupê variant has twin turbochargers tucked into the bay and belts out 324 kW (440 hp). 550Nm of torque edges out the 0-100km/h  by one-second. With three optional lightweight sports packages, this figure drops to 4.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 263km/h. Then the third variant, the Cayenne Turbo Coupé churns out 404 kW (550 hp) with 770 Nm thanks to its twin-turbocharging four-litre V8 engine. 0-100km/h is clocked in at 3.9 seconds. An SUV that can accelerate from a standing start to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, is not shabby at all.
