Singapore - Introducing Karpride, the latest innovation in car wash technology and Singapore’s first Tech and Touch methodology. In providing car owners with the best possible option for maintaining their pride and joy, we spoke to Mr. Steve Er, Director of Hock Cheong Automec, one of the largest independent automotive service providers in Singapore for more.
“What began as a collaboration with Ngee Ann Polytechnic students back in 2008, has since culminated into a fully operational system, redesigning the job functions of workers in the car wash industry.” He added, “We are grateful to have received strong support from various governmental agencies such as the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Public Utilities Board (PUB) in our extensive research and development. Karpride aims to strengthen its car wash operations, and to keep pace with future developments and influence automotive trends within Singapore and beyond.”
How it works
Unlike conventional car wash systems, Karpride’s robotic arches are designed to gently spray water over the entire car, and evenly dispenses a specially formulated nanoparticles-filled shampoo. This entire process takes about three minutes, and is followed by a manual wipe down and inspection by a Karpride Service Ambassador.
Karpride’s entire system is also environmentally friendly. Regular car wash uses anywhere between 90 to 100 liters of water, this fully operational first-generation system cuts down that number by an astounding 41%. This is achieved by strategically positioned and designed nozzles, as well as an integrated water filtration system that recycles water used during the wash.
Furthermore, without the need for roaring high-pressure jets to blast off dirt and grime, noise pollution is also significantly reduced, opening up the opportunity for Karpride to exist within residential estates and densely populated urban cities. Drivers have even been noted to comment on the ‘zen-like’ car wash experience.
Redefining the methodology of washing a car, Karpride is also elevating the skills and productivity of this laborious profession, effectively enabling their Service Ambassadors to focus on customer service and experience. Inconsistencies and human errors are also better mitigated by leveraging on this form of smart technology.
You can ‘Feel the pride and Enjoy the ride’ at the first ever Karpride, situated at the Lorong Chuan Esso gas station here.
